The house
It dates back to the 1870s, when Arcachon and the Ville d’Hiver became fashionable, and is characteristic of this period with its brick and blonde stone façade, its wooden balconies and its galleries on the Bay side.
With its two gardens, one on the city side and the other facing the Bay, it is hidden in a beautiful green setting. The location is ideal, close to lively downtown market, shops and cafés, and less than 220 yards from the beach.
We renovated the house with the double aim of bringing modernity and comfort while respecting the charm and authenticity of the building.
We love cross-cultural atmospheres, where you find designer pieces as well as antiques or ethnical objects: at les Ombrées, some of them are part of our family history.
At les Ombrées, nothing is set, everything is possible, and that is how we want your stay to be.

Un salon/bibliothèque prolongé par une petite galerie aménagée vous est réservé. Vous y trouverez livres, revues, musique ainsi qu’un plateau de courtoisie avec une machine «espresso», sélection de thés et tisanes pour vous détendre en toute liberté. C’est également dans ce salon que nous servons les petits déjeuners quand il fait trop frais sur la terrasse.

Separated by a small hall, the second room (17 m²) can be used as a bedroom or living room, with its very comfortable sofa bed for 2 (160X200 cm) and a small desk. A wide window door opens on the terrace area and the garden. It also has a pretty bathroom, with independent WC.
The garden
-On the Bay side, the oak tree and the pines will bring you shade and peace. Armchairs, tables and deck chairs are waiting for you: you can choose the spot you prefer. A petanque court is available: you will love to play after the beach, before the aperitif, or anytime just to have fun.

-On the city side, a large terrace opens on the garden and its flowers. You will enjoy the rising sun while taking breakfast.
Respectful of our area privileged environment, we selected for the garden plants that don’t need too much water : laurel, pine trees, mimosa, grasses.
